International General Communications Internship

Gain international field experience while using your skills in journalism to impact people in OM fields all over the world. Join an international field, in one of the 110 countries around the globe where OM teams are located, to use your skills and passions in both digital and print media to impact the world for Christ. By participating in a professional internship with OM, you are not only signing on to participate in the fulfillment of the Great Commission, but you are also choosing to develop the unique passion for communications that God has given you.
With OM teams scattered all over the world, and excellent distance supervision throughout the course of your internship, we will work with you to find the best fit for you regarding dates and field location in order to provide a significant and fulfilling internship experience. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Join in the field team’s ongoing, local ministry objectives.
  • Travel to strategic events and locations in order to capture stories and paint pictures through journalism of how God is at work in each location.
  • Utilize various communications skills in a variety of media, potentially including videography, photography, journalism, and graphic design.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Self-motivated, creative, have the ability to conduct interviews, and write quality articles or produce quality communications materials for various media outlets.
  • Attention to detail and excellence in media quality.
  • Applicant must submit an online portfolio of his/her work for review and evaluation.

Additional Info:

  • All interns must formally accept and abide by OM’s Statement of Faith for the duration of the internship.
  • International internships are not paid positions and all financial needs should be covered with personal support. Our organization will provide tools and training to raise funds.
  • Homestay with a national is dependent on circumstances.
  • Required pre-Field training through on-line materials and video conference sessions with coaches and an Intern Cohort in the weeks leading up to departure date. Includes debriefing with coaches on return.
  • Dates and duration of internships are flexible and will be decided upon in conjunction with the intern and the host field.

  • You will receive vocational and spiritual mentoring throughout the duration of your internship experience.

Accreditation:

  • Degree Credit available upon the approval of your university/college supervisors.
