Camp Internship - Saddle Horn Ranch

Camp Timber-lee, a religious non-profit organization, offers a unique internship opportunity that provide hands-on experience designed specifically to equip participants with ministry, communication, and teaching opportunities that are invaluable to a career in camping, outdoor recreation, the education field, and many others.

Saddle Horn Ranch Interns will spend 30-40 hours per week gaining practical hands-on experience in the saddle guiding trail rides, on the ground caring for the horses and other farm animals, and in the classrooms teaching students how to safely maneuver on and around a horse. Interns will also learn how to operate our tractor to drive hayrides, teach leather craft projects, and explain the role different types of animals play on a farm.

Timber-lee is home to one of the largest residential Outdoor Education and youth retreat programs in the Midwest. The SHR interns have the advantage of working closely with many different aspects of these programs, thus gaining knowledge by hands-on experience, as well as learning directly from numerous seasoned professional staff.

Through field experiences working with school groups and youth retreats, and a camping community, Timber-lee will provide the right environment needed to take ministry minded individuals to the next level of both personal and professional growth.

We select individuals who are passionate about helping others grow in a closer relationship with Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit working in them. It’s our desire that our interns will leave with lasting memories and close friendships, have numerous valuable learning experiences, and a deeper spiritual life.
Specific Requirements
*Have a sincere love for God and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
*Be able to fully participate in the entire duration of the selected 4, or 5 month program.
*College graduate preferred.
*Between the ages of 21 and 25.
*Have enthusiasm for contributing to a learning and teaching environment.
*Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to teach and lead a group of students.
