Design Engineer, New/Recent Graduate (Indianapolis, IN)
A Design Engineer at VS Engineering will be an individual early in their professional career looking for an opportunity to: gain experience working on exciting and complex projects, learn from experienced engineers and project managers, and grow their career.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop construction documents and specifications under the supervision of a Professional Engineer
- Participates and assists the team with planning, design and construction inspection of various civil engineering projects
- Contributes to the preparation of planning documents, engineering plans, details, reports, specifications and construction cost estimates
- Assists in coordinating with clients, regulators and permitting agencies
- Helps prepare contract documents for bidding
- Complete field assignments like data collection and construction observation
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam (preferred)
- 0-4 years relevant work experience, previous professional internships/co-op experience preferred
- Technical knowledge/ computer skills: AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation (preferred), Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook (required), Adobe (preferred)
