Field Internship
Duties & Responsibilities
Intern will have immediate field opportunity on a survey crew associated with construction, topographic, and boundary related surveys using state-of-the art technology. Exposure to many facets of land surveying and construction engineering including work on highways, bridges, infrastructure, and building construction projects. Office opportunities may arise at a later date include drafting and design related to site development and land planning projects.
Qualifications/Experience:
· Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or similar degree program.
· Ability to work 5 days per week during the summer months.
· Internship could continue on a part-time basis during the fall/spring semesters.
· Experience in the construction or land surveying industry preferred, but not necessary.
· Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
· Willingness to travel throughout the state of Indiana
· Ability to maintain required OSHA safety training. Some projects will require field work which may be hazardous due to: rough terrain, proximity to machinery, construction projects in various stages of completion, heavy equipment in operation, and vehicular traffic.
· Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with the capability to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
· Must have agility and be physically mobile to ensure safety in and around construction sites and field assignments. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and environments.
