Multimedia Summer Internship Coastal Plain League **Huge Portfolio Building Opportunity**

2021 Coastal Plain League Multimedia Internship
Start Date: Mid-May 2021
End Date: Mid-August 2021

Why Join the CPL?
So you want a job in sports media but have limited actual experience working in sports media to add to your resume or portfolio? This is the job for you. You have the controls, you will create and post 100s of hours of your own unique content. We don’t force you into standard templates, we want you to be you. Just not the you that posts bad cat memes.

Want to live on the beach for a summer and work at a baseball game at night? We have locations on the beach.

Want to live near the mountains for a summer and work at a baseball game at night? We have locations near the mountains.

Want to be near a large city for a summer and work at a baseball game at night? We have locations within and near some of the best cities in the southeast.

Want to have an exciting summer doing something that will help you get a job in a field you actually want post-grad? Come join our family and not only build your portfolio but instantly become a known commodity amongst all of the CPL’s franchises when the time comes for you to apply for a full-time job. This job won't be easy but it will be fun and more than worth your time, we strive to make it the best internship of its kind each summer.

Academic Qualifications: If you are a creative thinker and don’t live inside a box, apply. Prefer Communication, Design, Media, Marketing etc. fields of study, but will consider other qualified applicants. Film makers, graphic designers, journalists, digital media producers - we want you all.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Basically everything your parents have ever yelled at you for is a desired skill for working as a multimedia intern in the CPL.

Social media obsessed? Yes please. Candidates must be familiar with social media platforms (specifically Instagram & TikTok) and the proper etiquette required in a professional setting.

Always getting caught making TikTok’s or Reels at the dinner table? Yes please. We want all the dance moves you have.

Never put your phone down? Great because having your own device to make your posts is required for this internship. Data is on you, water balloon fights and underwear chicken slingshots provided by our teams.

A plus plus plus if you have a high quality camera to collect additional video and pictures on outside of a phone for the social posts.

Computer savvy, don’t be the person that sends a company wide email all within the subject line.

Responsible enough to work alone, we are short on babysitters.

Knowledge of baseball a plus but not required. One of our best interns one year referred to the left-fielder as that guy way out there by the scoreboard. He went on to get a job with the Boston Red Sox working in graphic design the year following our program. Moral of the story, if you are good….you are good. We can teach you the game.

Description and Responsibilities:
Perfect Game anointed the Coastal Plain League the “most internet famous league in the country." Our multimedia interns are a huge part of helping to grow that reputation through their work each summer.

Each intern will be assigned to one of our 15 franchises (across four states) and be responsible for posting to the league’s Instagram and Facebook Stories live during each home game. 2021 will also be the first full year for the CPL to have a TikTok so the 2021 class of interns will have the chance to create said account from the ground up. Interns will create TikToks, Instagram Reels and other feed content from the pictures and video they are collecting at games. These can be created during down time between games and posted as created (with approval from your supervisor as needed.)

Interns will also be asked to collect video, pictures and more of the players for our media database. Their work will be featured in articles as well as the league’s Around the CPL weekly show and used to create social content of all kinds.

Interns will have the opportunity to pitch their own story ideas, whether print or digital based, throughout the summer as well as taking part in league wide video initiatives (i.e. Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Father’s Day, etc.) We want our interns to collaborate across the league and feel apart of the brand, the content is never ending. We want staff members who never stop thinking of ways to use it.

Overall we feel this internship offers students the rare opportunity to build their portfolio in an impactful manner. It also allows them to be apart of the most entertaining league in the country.

(Travel to road games is NOT required. Working all home games is a MUST!)

Do not apply for this internship if you are not willing to commit for the full summer or expect holidays off. This is a rare opportunity for students looking to work in this field to show themselves off to future employers, we expect interns to treat it as such and will not accept anything but top effort. Also do not apply if you hate having fun….*yawn*

Compensation: School credit
Credit: College credit towards a major, minor, or general elective required.
Housing: Not available in most markets, candidate must have access to housing in the market they are interested in unless otherwise stated.
