Project Engineer

Dunnet Bay is seeking a project engineer to add to our project team. The Project Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and project support on our heavy highway construction projects. The engineer is expected to maintain a good knowledge of the contract plans and specifications, including subcontracts and purchase orders, and Dunnet Bay means and methods.

Responsibilities:
•  Works with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman and Crews on the project.
• Schedule and manage material deliveries – ensure that materials received are accompanied by proper certifications per the contract documents.
•Compile and maintain project documentation including daily reports/schedules and jobsite photos
•Monitor subcontractors schedule and progress
· Order / Manage / Balance concrete pours
· Assist with project closeout, finalizing quantities, and preparing job cost reports.
•Follows Dunnet Bay Construction’s policies and procedures, including safety policies.
 
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
·  1-2 years heavy highway construction experience, preferred.
•Must be safety oriented – 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.
• Strong work ethic – willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
•Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc.).
•Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and  specifications.
•Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with public body
agencies.
 
Physical Demands/Work Environment
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will required to be on site and access all points of the construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments. Employee is exposed to outside weather conditions as well as field office environments. Employee will on occasion assist in transporting materials from Dunnet Bays yard to the jobsite. Employee will on occasion work 2nd shift during construction stage/phase changes.
