Project Manager - Vertical Strategies

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha, and the Wolfram Language, is searching for a proactive individual with exceptional interpersonal, research and organizational skills for a new Project Manager position at Wolfram Research. This Project Manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating a broad range of development activities for Wolfram and, unique to this project manager position, planning and executing their own research projects. This position requires software or web project management experience; strong presentation, research and communication skills; and the ability to interface with our technical and product development teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment and, importantly, has a passion for discovering and testing new technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting project leads in creating and maintaining project plans
  • Proactively managing the execution of project plans for multiple projects
  • Creating and maintaining roadmaps with input from project stakeholders
  • Helping create and maintain requirement lists
  • Monitoring the status, risks and resources for the entire life cycle of projects
  • Creating and maintaining tickets with the appropriate deadlines, watchers and details needed to execute projects
  • Setting up development sprints
  • Identifying, conveying and tracking project milestones
  • Preparing agendas for meetings and leading the meetings as needed
  • Collecting detailed notes from meetings with discussion details, decisions made, next steps and action items
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams within the company
  • Establishing, documenting and improving internal processes
  • Maintaining project pages and dashboards
  • Monitoring performance and project metrics
  • Researching and completing independent projects in furtherance of team aims

Requirements
  • Experience in software or web project management
  • Experience researching based on web tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Crunchbase and ZoomInfo
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytic skills
  • Ability to interact with cross-functional teams (for example, user experience, design, web, technical content, quality assurance, support and product development teams)
  • High degree of initiative
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
