Marketing Intern-Summer 2021

Position: Marketing Intern-Summer 2021

Summary: Data Trust, a dynamic political data organization focused on developing and nurturing top talent serving center-right leaning advocacy groups and political organizations, is actively hiring Summer 2021 interns. The Marketing intern will work alongside Data Trust’s Marketing Director on various day-to-day tasks and short and long-term projects to grow the company’s Marketing department. 
 
The program is set to be remote*, beginning June 2nd and ends on August 11th, but we can be flexible for the right candidate. Hours will be Monday through Friday, 11am-2pm. College students and young professionals interested in pursuing a career in marketing or politics are especially encouraged to apply. 
 
Why intern with Data Trust? 
 
Are you passionate about politics and have an interest in marketing? If so, this internship is for you! This internship program is designed to give you exposure to center-right politics and data while gaining real world marketing experience. Projects include both internal and external deliverables that go to clients and into stakeholders’ hands. 
 
Compensation: $15/hour 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Create graphics and illustrations to communicate complex concepts 
  • Layout documents following company graphics standards guide 
  • Edit existing documents with updated copy, data, and imagery 
  • Manipulate and edit raster images and recolor vector icons 
  • Assist with content ideation for social media channels 
  • Find and compile news clips relevant to the company’s mission 
  • Assist with tracking social media metrics and creating reports 
 
Qualifications: 
 
  • You are proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator 
  • You have a strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills 
  • You studied design, marketing, communications, or political science 
  • You are working toward a bachelor’s degree or are a recent graduate looking to enter the world of center-right politics 
  • You ideally have experience working in politics, excellent organizational skills, and a strong work ethic 
  • You are familiar with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 
 
Note: please include a writing sample of any social media content creation experience; a design portfolio showcasing a strong grasp of layout, composition, and typography; or a case study detailing a relevant marketing project. 
 
* We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and as our main concern is the health and safety of our employees and their families, we have scheduled the program to be remote. If there is an opportunity to have our interns in Washington D.C., we will welcome those that are interested, but this will not be required.
