Overview

Headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Lovelace Family of Research Companies consists of an interdisciplinary association of scientists and researchers located at universities, national laboratories and research centers that are committed to fundamental research in support of the Institute’s overall mission of improving human health.

We are currently seeking Faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Institute and be a part of a new program emphasizing collaborative neuroscience research across all Lovelace Institutes.

Working collaboratively with researchers from both the Mind Research Network (MRN)—the Institute’s neuroscience research organization dedicated to the discovery and advancement of clinical solutions for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, brain injuries and other brain disorders—and Lovelace Biomedical—the Institute’s contract research organization in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology—our Faculty members work to bring together the extensive facilities of both MRN and Lovelace Biomedical to conduct cutting edge preclinical research and translational research.

Specifically for these Faculty positions, a focus will be placed on truly translational research that involves bench, preclinical and clinical studies, and is ideal for scientists with an interest in researching novel neuroscience approaches across these spectrums.

Qualifications

The Faculty positions require a Ph.D. or M.D. and an outstanding record of publications and research accomplishments relevant to either the areas of 1) traumatic brain injury/polytrauma or 2) addiction research.

Chosen candidates are expected to develop and establish well-supported, rigorous and competitive research programs to support our growing interest in providing bench-to-bedside translational research in these two areas.

Preference is given to candidates who demonstrate a history of success in obtaining support for sponsored/funded research.

Interested applicants should send their CV, together with a cover letter, a short summary of past accomplishments, an outline of future research plans, and letters of support from 3-4 academic referees. All application materials should be sent as a single PDF file through the Institute’s website, www.mrn.org/careers or www.lrri.org/careers.

Salary

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the starting date is negotiable for Faculty opportunities. The Lovelace Companies offer competitive salaries, generous retirement contributions, and a comprehensive benefits package, and relocation assistance will be provided to candidates moving to the Albuquerque area.
