Manufacturing Engineer

SUMMARY
Genesis Products is looking for an entry level Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position will have high growth potential for the right team member. This position will report to the Operations Manager and will work closely with multiple Plant Managers and other members of the operations and engineering teams to implement and review current operations systems to ensure execution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintenance systems, tooling, process development and implementation and process improvement projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Initiates the development of safe manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment
  • Executes purchasing activities associated with maintenance and equipment systems
  • Performs cost-benefit analysis to evaluate factory tooling
  • Maintains the facilities and equipment systems
  • Sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for the safe manufacturing of products
  • Performs continuous improvement activities using lean tools for cost reduction, quality improvement, improved efficiency, and improved material flow
  • Assists Quality Engineering with developing robust quality control plans
  • Performs work measurement analysis using time studies or predetermined motion time systems to develop optimal process
  • Data entry and system maintenance using basic Microsoft programs
SKILLS DESIRED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field required.
  • 1-3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience building engineered labor standards
  • Performs successfully in a high change environment; Able to quickly and effectively transition between tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and CAD.
