- $1000 sign-on bonus for employees new to state service or who have not held a position within the last 5 years
- $10 add on pay for weekend hours
This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to inmate patients in both ambulatory and infirmary settings, providing patient assessment and treatment, assisting physicians in providing medical services, managing medications, providing emergency care, and maintaining medical records. In addition, the Nurse Clinician 2 is expected to participate in educational programs for staff and patients and participate in activities to maintain her/his nurse competency at a minimum proficient level.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Applicants must possess licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or licensure as a Registered Nurse in another state. Applicants must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin at time of employment.
Qualifications:
- Considerable knowledge of current professional nursing theory and practice
- Skill in the application of nursing practice in meeting specific needs of adults, including emergency care
- Ability to work effectively with other disciplines in a team relationship
- Ability to maintain a helpful and understanding attitude toward the incarcerated adult exhibiting hostile or other negative behavioral traits
- Ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population
