Purpose of Position:
The POS Support Technician will maintain and support all computers (servers, desktops, cash registers, and laptops), databases, network and separate printers, and all other IT equipment. The POS Support Technician will provide desk-side assistance including but not limited to; resolving technology support issues, installations, configuration, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, backups, day-to-day technical support to customers for POS software, systems, and hardware.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Learn and use company software programs
  • Work with Store management to resolve complex issues
  • Troubleshoot, investigate and document possible software bugs
  • Work with vendor/internal developers to software bug resolution
  • Perform functional testing, interpretation, and analysis of results of tests
  • Deploy all related software and hardware
  • Analyze user requirements and develop functional specifications
  • Perform ad hoc maintenance requests
  • Develop and improve documentation to support problem analysis and resolution
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Tomax Jpos and Retial.net experience
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues
  • Willingness to learn and self-educate
  • Understand technology
  • Passion for customer service
  • Ability to multitask and manage time
  • Work both independently and in teams as needed
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a help desk or POS role required
Travel Requirements:
This position requires some travel, up to 25%.
