High School Learning Strategist

Job Description Overview:
A professional Learning Strategist is a systems change agent and a leader, collaborator, and advocate for students. The MCPASD Learning Strategist supports student success in the areas of academic achievement, career, and social/emotional development through equitable multi-tiered systems of support.

The Learning Strategist works in concert with the instructional coaches, student services team members, instructional leaders, building administrators and other relevant staff to ensure all students are included in programming and learning design. This includes development of building goals and practices and regular use of student and staff data that is both quantitative and qualitative.

Training and Licensure:
● Licensed educator in the State of WI.
● Candidates should have a commitment to social justice and culturally and linguistically responsive practices, exemplified in professional learning experiences.

Essential Job Functions:
Communication and Collaboration
● Establishes rapport with support and certified staff members, students, and families
● Builds effective collaborative relationships with students, staff, administration, families and appropriate community partners
● Collaborates to help students establish individual and building-wide goals
● Implements effective universal and tiered systems of support
● Participates on and builds teams, as needed
Assessment
● Serves and supports the school wide assessment team
● Along with other colleagues--e.g. school psychologists, teachers, administrators--uses evaluation data (quantitative and qualitative) at the student and school level for progress monitoring
● Uses data to advocate for systemic change in response to the changing needs of the school and community, creating an optimal learning environment.
● Develops appropriate interventions for students as needed and monitors student progress in multiple ways
Program Planning & Management
● Provides leadership to the MTSS school wide team
● Works with teams to review data and inform programs and practice using an equity lens
● Prioritizes tasks and manages time effectively in order to meet the needs of students, staff, and administrators.
● Serves as a resource in development of staff professional learning
Program Delivery
● Along with colleagues, leads staff professional learning on co-planning, co-serving, and co-learning
● Develops and/or utilizes instructional strategies and approaches for tiered intervention supports to meet student needs and school goals
● Encourages staff involvement to ensure the effective implementation of an equitable, multi-tiered system of supports across the system
● Promotes equity, access, and academic success for every student.
Professionalism
● Adheres to educational professional, ethical standards, modeling ethical behavior and professional growth
● Demonstrates strong interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents.
● Engages in local leadership opportunities and advocates on behalf of students
● Stay abreast of current professional practice related to system coherence and student-centered learning
