Marketing Communications Intern

Builden Partners seeks an enthusiastic and articulate intern for the Summer of 2021, with the potential to extend into the fall.
 
Builden Partners is changing the way law firms think about marketing. Working as an intern for Builden, you will be exposed to and interact with a variety of law firm clients. This includes exposure to attorneys, business professionals, media, print and graphic designers, web developers and photographers.  
 
The right intern will also have the opportunity to engage with Legal & Professional Services Council, a 500-member non-profit dedicated to providing high-quality programming on best practices in business development, marketing and communications for law firms and other professional services firms, run by the founder of Builden Partners. This includes attending virtual and potentially in-person events and networking sessions with Chicago professionals.
 
This position is currently remote but may shift to in-person or a hybrid of remote and in-person work during the course of the internship.
The Communications Intern will play a number of critical roles at Builden including:
  • Assist with development of web content by writing, editing and proofreading documents ranging from press releases to newsletters  
  • Assist clients with internal communications, social media content and press materials, research and administrative tasks 
  • Event planning for both clients and Builden Partners  
  • Film, edit and produce video content
  • Develop copy, manage RSVPs and create social media content for Legal & Professional Services Council  
  • Attend and participate in industry creative development meetings  
 
The right candidate:
  • Junior, senior or graduate looking for communications position that may lead to a full-time position
  • Availability to work while pursuing degree, if applicable
  • Journalism, communications, marketing, PR or advertising background  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills  
  • Experience with video editing software, LinkedIn and WordPress or similar CMS tools  
  • 10-15 hours per week with at least 3 hours per shift
  • Front-loaded schedule (available Monday-Wednesday)
  • Experience with professional services or law firms is a plus, but not required
