Associate scientist to study embryonic signaling and morphogenesis
The Sokol laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, is looking for a research fellow to join our group in the fall of 2021. Our laboratory is in the Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology, with a number of groups with highly collaborative, developmental and stem cell biology program. Besides high-quality research core facilities, career guidance and professional development training are provided for postdoctoral fellows.
Our group studies how embryonic Wnt and planar cell polarity signaling pathways regulate cell movements during gastrulation and neural tissue development. A successful candidate will use live cell imaging and genomic/proteomic approaches to study how signaling molecules and mechanical forces regulate collective cell behaviors in early Xenopus embryos and mammalian progenitor/stem cells. Preference will be given to recent graduates with strong background in cell biology, biochemistry or genomics/bioinformatics. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
