[SOFTW01637] Lead Software Developer (A Dept)

SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for an experienced Lead Software Developer to join our team and provide software engineering in an Agile development environment as part of an integrated contractor-government team developing weapons system software and naval information systems.
Responsibilities: The Lead Developer will provide leadership and vision for the development of operation solutions by guiding development of program specifications, overseeing testing efforts, and leading programmers. The responsibilities of the position include planning programming projects by confirming program objective and specifications; review, evaluation, and analysis of design interfaces; preparation, review, and evaluation of interface documentation, specifications, test plans and procedures. The Lead Developer will utilize a high level of skill in multiple programming languages, including Java, and lead teams utilizing various software development methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Experience and demonstrated success in providing coordination with software programmers and business application developers to create properly-sized and properly-functioning database structures for business applications
  • Experience planning and implementing upgrades and evolution strategies for databases
  • Experience serving as point of contact for database design
  • Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) experience and skills, preferably in an Oracle environment
  • Advanced experience with Oracle database management systems
  • Senior-level experience writing data-driven web applications with SQL and Oracle
  • Knowledge and experience in UNIX shell programming, Perl, Procedural Language for SQL (PL/SQL), and SQL
  • Knowledge and experience with both Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) databases
  • Experience providing quality assurance, cyber security, and validation for all database initiatives.
Preferred Skills & Experience:  
  • Experience understanding business processes and mapping those processes to SQL code
  • Experience troubleshooting customer reported issues through code and/or data analysis
  • Experience reading product specifications and implementing those specifications using SQL and UNIX scripting
  • Experience communicating and documenting concepts via the generation of Configuration Management (CM) documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), white papers, presentations, training packages, and technical data packages
  • Working knowledge of the application of new Modeling and Simulation (M&S) technologies
  • Experience and familiarity with command operations at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).
Education:  Bachelors or Masters Degreee in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or 10 years of relevant expertise
Minimum Clearance:  Final Secret Clearance
Travel: Occasional travel may be required; mostly Continental United States (CONUS).
