GENERAL DESCRIPTION/STATEMENT//MISSIONSTATEMENT: A Transport Medicine RN is a staff nurse who has received specialized training to meet the needs of critical patients, both in-house patients and patients being transported byground to a tertiary care center. This person must be adequately prepared by experience and training to care for cases ranging in acuity from non-urgent to life-threatening and from minor injuries to major trauma. S/he must demonstrate an ability to cope with extreme emergent situations while remaining calm and demonstrate recognition of the value and dignity of the individual without regard to the nature of the illness/injury or the circumstances leading to it. The Transport Medicine RN is part of a team, providing a service that may be needed at any given moment.

LICENSEREQUIREMENTS: Current Maine Registered Nurse License/ license eligible.

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Will be required to work three (3) twelve (12) hour clinical shifts.

2. Must be available for weekend and holiday shifts on an equitable basis.
