Computer Science Teacher

Teaching Computer Science at an Independent School

The innovation and advancement that have defined the childhood years of the new millennium have produced an enhanced computer science and technology curriculum in independent schools. Education extends beyond the computer lab; increasingly, schools employ leaders who can help teachers integrate technology into daily classroom life. Our client independent schools are always looking to hire knowledgeable, innovative computer science teachers who can support the technology plans of the entire school.

Responsibilities of the Computer Science Teacher:
  • Develop and implement a curriculum and lesson plans that will foster knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach students in the grade assigned.
  • Teach courses in Computer Science Essentials, Computer Science Principles, Computer Science A, and Cybersecurity.
  • Evaluate each student’s progress in their computer scientific knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate with parents to discuss the individual student’s progress.

Requirements of the Computer Science Teacher:
  • Bachelor’s in computer science REQUIRED (or extensive coursework in computer science)
  • Interest to contribute to school community outside of the classroom as an athletic coach, student advisor, student club leader, or otherwise
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
