Mechanical Engineer - Thermal Solutions

As a part of the Server R&D team, our Mechanical Engineers utilize CAD software to generate designs and technical proposals, review design work with customers and collaborate with our team to expedite samples, validate design work, and release the products to manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
  • Work on Research and Development, specifications, design and manufacturing implementation from chip-to-board level thermal solutions through focus on system level thermal design.
  • Use analytical and computational analysis along with laboratory validation of prototypes in the design process.
  • Collaborate with cross functional system architecture team to meet design requirements.
  • Investigate new technology and designs during the product lifecycle of the project and drive design decisions; analyzing/implementing trade-offs while contributing to thermal solution of product design from conceptualization to production.
  • Build and prepare prototypes for validation testing.
  • Compile test reports, summaries, and document investigations to contribute to insights to system and product/solutions improvement.
Education Requirements, Ideal Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Strong technical background and 3D/2D drawing ability in PTC Creo, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Familiarity with simulation or analytic add-in tools for CAD environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile.
  • Ability to write clear and concise test plans and SOPs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving ability.
  • The ability to visualize and clarify product needs from fundamental concepts through system considerations to ensure optimized designs.
  • Strong knowledge of FEA/CFD theory and analysis tools related to heat transfer, including knowledge of thermal analysis software (e.g. FloTherm).
