Mechanical Engineer

As a part of the Server R&D team, our Mechanical Engineers utilize CAD software to generate designs and technical proposals, review design work with customers and collaborate with our team to expedite samples, validate design work, and release the products to manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
  • Use 3D CAE tools to create new dimensioned part design database from customer created documents, sketches and/or interaction with inventor. Tools include: pro/Engineer, Solidworks, etc.
  • Modify drawings, existing prints and configurations using 2D and 3D CAE software; manage SKUBOM and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with Design team to incorporate design changes in new products to improve manufacturing and assembly, support manufacturing by designing fixtures to improve production process.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party services, Fii Level 5 manufacturing to expedite samples of new part designs for design verification; coordinate with vendors for any out-of-spces mechanical parts and to improve design quality.
  • Collaborate with project team to insure assigned work proceeds to the agreed upon master schedule, support production floor for any quality issues identified for mechanical parts.
  • Manage platform and feature cost estimates, effect synergy of product quality, cost, supply chain and market competitiveness.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested or assigned by Sr. Mechanical Engineer or, Product Design team leader.
Education Requirements, Ideal Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Strong technical background and 3D/2D drawing ability (preferably in PTC Creo/Pro-Engineer);
  • Knowledge of design for sheet metal, plastic parts, and associated production tooling and processes.
  • Commanding knowledge and ability to apply the basic foundation of a function’s principles, theories, and concepts to assignments of limited scope.
  • Ability to write clear and concise test plans and SOPs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Proficiency inn Excel, PowerPoint and comparable software.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment through pertinent information sharing, providing analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts.
