Bi-Lingual Human Resources Associate

BASIC FUNCTION: 
The Human Resources Associate supports the PSM HR team with the administrative aspects with the primary focus on the immigration program. This role performs system updates with accuracy and ensures status records are current for PSM employees. The Human Resources Associate - immigration reports directly to the Immigration Recruiter.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Assists in coordinating the recruitment and retention efforts for managed farms  
  • Update applicable employee records and reports in the appropriate systems 
  • Update status and related document information for open cases 
  • Assists with reporting 
  • Distribute document copies to employees as needed and help manage general correspondence 
  • Under direction request payments for processing and track status accordingly 
  • Represent the PSM immigration program in a professional manner by building rapport and trust with PSM employees in the immigration process 
  • Coordinate regulatory notice of filings for immigration cases 
  • Assists in the benefits process, workers compensation, and safety programs as needed 
  • Assists with the maintenance of the human resources information system as needed 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 
Prior principles and practices in the human resources arena is required. Experience with an HRIS database is preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and excellent interpersonal skills. 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: 
  1. An Associate degree in a business field and
  2. A minimum of 1-3 years human resources experience OR 
  3. A Combination of education and experience 
  4. 1-2 years related employment immigration experience and/or training preferred 
  5. Understanding of U.S. immigration status documents, including I-94 arrival / departure records, visa stamps, and USCIS approval notices preferred 
  6. Bilingual Spanish required

  6. Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk for extended periods of time
