Sourcebooks, a leading entrepreneurial publisher, is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support its dynamic marketing team responsible for driving growth and impact for our children’s and young adult authors, books, and brands. This is an ideal position for someone who is looking to begin his/her/their career in publishing!

This immediate full time opening for a Marketing Assistant is the perfect opportunity for an individual who possesses a big-picture mentality, is a proactive self-starter, and is able to keep up to date with new marketing techniques and trends!

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…
  • Collaborate with colleagues and peers on projects related to the newest digital marketing initiatives that will include trade, library and retail marketing
  • Assisting in the coordination of our author award submissions and tracking within a database
  • In collaboration with the marketing team, working on optimizing and driving our email campaigns
  • Owning online optimization for select titles, including descriptions, keywords, digital assets, and more.
  • Assisting with departmental administrative support that will include creating content for our books on Sourcebooks.com
  • Coordinating galley mailings, including library and trade submissions
  • Consistently monitor our own marketing strategies that include day-to-day posting on Sourcebooks' Kids & Fire social media channels
 
YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE…
  • Internship experience in Publishing, Marketing, or Public Relations
  • BA/BS Marketing or other closely related field
  • Excellent promotional copywriting and communication skills
  • Knowledge or passion for discovering new trends in digital and social media (you’ll be posting on our channels!)
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to department goals
  • A pure passion for books (we’re a publishing company, we make books that change lives!)

The role requires you to work on site at our Naperville, IL office starting September 2021. You can work remotely from Illinois, New York, Connecticut, Arizona, Montana, Nebraska, Tennessee or Texas until September 2021.
