Power Electronics Software Engineer

Position Summary:
Carrier is seeking candidates with skills in power electronics software design, control algorithm development, and embedded system design to join our Power Electronics Group.

Sample Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop subsystem and software requirements for power electronic equipment.
  • Write software (embedded C-code) to support real-time interfacing of control algorithms.
  • Verification and testing of power electronics hardware and software subsystems in a lab environment and a hardware-in-the-loop environment.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures and identify potential solutions.
  • Software release process management

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in US.
  • Strong embedded software development with C/C++.
  • Experience deriving and refining requirements for electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of microcontrollers or DSPs as applied to power electronics.
  • Experience programming FPGAs with VHDL.
  • Experience generating verification plans.

Education:      
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with minimum 10 years of working experience, or M.S. degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with minimum 7 years of working experience
