Financial Specialist Credit

The Financial Specialist serves the Association's internal and external customers by preparing financial loan packages for system and manual underwriting decisions in a timely manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Provides assistance to Credit Analysts in loan processing activities and support for the local marketplace delivery team. Perform standardized and consistent financial input and monitoring for all levels and types of operations and income sources. Work in a team environment to accomplish goals.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide financial input support for Credit Analysts and Retail, Consumer or Agribusiness Teams. 
  • Analyzing, servicing, and monitoring loans of varying risk and complexity.
  • Confirm, assemble, and input financial data including balance sheets, tax returns, income statements, and cash flow statements into the Association’s portfolio management database for all levels and types of operations and income sources where some interpretation and decision-making would be required. 
  • Receive loan information and conduct other analysis, research and/or calculations, as needed, before data is entered into the system e.g., multiple entity loans, cash flow calculations, income statement preparation, prepared tax returns, and/or specialty input work.
  • Construct consolidated financial information. Complete After-Close balance sheets, Income Statements, and Analysis Summaries.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.  Respond to inquiries from Retail, Consumer or Agribusiness teammates regarding the financial input status of loans. Successfully communicate any needs for missing and/or inconclusive information on loan requests with teammates.  
  • May assist with cross-training and mentoring new employees and other Financial Specialists. May serve in roles for special projects.
  • May perform other relevant duties as assigned.
 
 Education and Experience
Two year college degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required. Four year college degree preferred and/or a combination of related experience or specialized training.
