The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a multitalented full-time contract program security/information systems security specialist to administer and oversee a comprehensive security program at our Huntsville, Alabama location. The selected candidate will serve as a Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO) and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and will provide expertise, guidance, and advice to management concerning all security administrative and classified information systems functions in support of a National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) in a compliant Security Department. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding current intelligence community issues 
  • Administering security awareness training programs 
  • Maintaining visitor control functions 
  • Overseeing physical facility security
  • Preparing DD254 forms
  • Managing personnel security clearances 
  • Conducting exit interviews and debriefings
  • Investigating and reporting security violations
  • Drafting incident reports
  • Conducting self-inspections 
  • Support Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) audits 
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving related security matters 
  • Providing support for all security functions in accordance with ICDs and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), including managing clearances associated with collateral and Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) programs 
  • Tracking Authority to Operation (ATO) documents 
  • Identifying, responding to, and remediating any security related IT issues 
  • Prepare and submit Risk Management Framework (RMF) documents and plans for system accreditation, auditing and continuous monitoring, or system disestablishment 
  • Provide IA Direction for programs and continuous monitoring to maintain the security posture of resources 
  • Auditing server and desktop operating systems and components 
  • Creating user accounts and groups on workstations or in an Active Directory environment
  • Troubleshoot Windows workstation and server issues
  • Establish and maintain backup services for appropriate data

Required Qualifications:
  • BS degree in a relevant discipline and 8+ years of directly related experience 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external customers 
  • Must have held or have current certification, clearance, or designation in at least one of the following: Defense Security Service/Facility Security Officer (FSO), Contractor Special Security Officer, Top Secret Clearance/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), or Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance (SCI) 
  • Must be able to travel
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) process & requirement 
  • Understanding of Information Systems security best practices and use of security tools and practices 
  • Has or is able to obtain Security + Certified 
  • Experience with Windows servers, workstations and an Active Directory environment 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, demanding environment 
  • Strong organizational skills, quick learner, and demonstrated problem solving 
  • Work well independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and can effectively communicate and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external customers 
  • Able to apply knowledge to complex practical situations
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding and experience with backup services, business continually, replication, and security tools (Nessus, McAfee, and SCAP) is a significant advantage 
  • Has or is able to obtain CISSP Certification
