13 WREX in Rockford, IL is looking for an experienced assignment editor to manage content and staff well beyond traditional broadcast news. We need someone to find, create and follow through on stories that make a difference in our community.

We want someone who is detail-oriented, organized and can manage field crews and live technology as well as play a leading role on all of our digital platforms. The ideal candidate is content-focused and thrives in a breaking news and deadline-driven environment. You must have knowledge of producing, reporting, sourcing, researching, social media and digging up new investigative stories. The right candidate has strong communication skills and works well with reporters, producers and photographers.

Your ability to multi-task is crucial and you need to have solid news judgement. The applicant must also be able to integrate digital content with our broadcast coverage as we are very aggressive on our website and social media platforms.

A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or related field is preferred.
