Part-Time Speech and Language Pathologist for Youth

Are you a Speech and Language Pathologist committed to empowering youth? The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) is a valued member of our dynamic school based assessment and treatment team. As Seneca's Speech and Language Pathologist you will use evidence based practice and data driven interventions to meet the needs of students with Individualized Education Programs. Our creative SLPs collaborate with teachers and school staff around the delivery of an enriched communication program, taking into consideration cultural and linguistic differences of our students. Seneca is a non-profit organization who partners with schools with high needs and in urban communities to provide mental health services and to build their capacity to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students grades K-12. Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language services to identified students.
  • Assess students who appear to be in need of speech and language treatment.
  • Attend IEPs and evaluation student progress as required by the IEP review process.
  • Work effectively as a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary intervention team
  • Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding the language needs of all students
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, classrooms and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in speech pathology or related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus; ability to communicate in Spanish and conduct Spanish language assessments a plus!
  • California Clinical Rehabilitation Services Credential authorizing services in public schools.
  • California State License.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy.
  • Fulfillment of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.

Schedule

  • 20 hours a week
