Part Time Faculty, Sound and Music Technology

Valencia College is seeking a Part Time Faculty, Sound and Music Technology to join our dedicated and passionate faculty team.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience to teach fundamental principles of sound including acoustics and electricity. Specific techniques include sound for video games, sound systems design, live sound reinforcement, and location sound recording and production (location sound mixer.)

In this position you will be responsible for teaching courses in sound technology. Other teaching assignments may be made as needed by the Department.

The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in music production, music technology, sound technology, audio engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, recording arts OR Associate’s degree in music production, music technology, sound technology, audio engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, recording arts plus demonstrable industry experience (Required).
  • Strong sound technology experience (Preferred)
  • Experienced in fundamental principles of sound including acoustics and electricity. Specific techniques include sound for video games, sound systems design, live sound reinforcement, and location sound recording and production (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and student-centered learning

Salary: Part-time Faculty positions are compensated based on the Faculty Salary Schedule. Compensation for part-time faculty is determined according to the highest earned degree and scheduled credit hours or equivalent. Part-Time Faculty course load may vary each semester, with credit hours not typically exceeding 12 per semester.

Work Hours: Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes.

Location: FL Based- Orlando, FL 32825 - East Campus
