POSITION: Teacher: Middle School Social Studies, Full-Time

 

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Valid State of Michigan teaching certificate for secondary social studies

·        Able to meet Highly Qualified Status

·        Successful preparation for and attainment of high student achievement through effective instructional practices

·        Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with students of all ability levels to meet their academic, behavioral, and emotional needs; proven ability to communicate with parents and other educators

·        Strong interpersonal skills with students

·        Ability to foster a classroom culture that is engaging, student-focused, and effectively managed

·        Demonstrated knowledge of the use of technology in education with preferred experience with Google Classroom

·        Preferred experience with teaching social studies

·        Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

·        Excellent verbal and written skills

·        Demonstrated ability to work with professional learning communities

 

SALARY: Per Master Agreement
