AmeriCorps Education Director

AmeriCorps Member:
This position is responsible for providing daily service to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, sharing experience and volunteer opportunities, and site support under the direct supervision and direction of the Program Director and Site Supervisor(s).
Youth development and/or community service experience; knowledge of teaching methods; creativity; flexibility; adaptability; organizational skills are preferable and beneficial.
Service activities will vary by service site. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
Program
·     Develop and implement academic enrichment programs
·     Provide supervision of Indiana Kids program
·     Directly implement and/or provide supervision for the Power Hour tutoring program
Community Outreach
·     Work with volunteer manager to identify volunteer needs
·     Train and manage volunteer tutors
·     Develop positive relationships with key staff at feeder schools and regularly visit those schools
Administrative
·     Administer evaluation tools to measure increases in academic success through data collection and Woodcock-Johnson pre/post tests
·     Maintain records of youth participation
·     Develop and maintain a recognition system for youth participation
·     Submit monthly AmeriCorps reports
·     Maintain time reports and logs in the OnCorps database
Other
·     Attend AmeriCorps and Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis sponsored trainings, staff meetings and events
·     Maintain a training percentage of 12-20%
·     Ensure the spread of AmeriCorps vision and visibility
