AmeriCorps Teen Program Director

Teen Program Director Position Description 
Indy AfterSchool Corps members serve in afterschool programs at community-based service sites of high poverty. Teen Program Directors implement/support College and Career readiness programs for junior high and high school students.

Service activities will vary by service site.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·        Create positive, mentoring relationships with teen Club members.
·        Utilize input from teen members to develop and implement a daily homework help and tutoring program that will appeal to teen Club members.
·        Conduct individual meetings with each teen Club member (who attends regularly) to develop and update his/her Graduation Plan at least once a month.
·        Support the College Readiness Coordinator, as he/she:
o   Creates opportunities for Club members in junior high/middle school and high school to participate in college and career planning programs (i.e. College Goal Sunday, College Fairs, etc.)
o   Promotes participation in college entrance exams (GED/SAT/ACT tests), financial aid assistance programs (21st Century Scholars/College Goal Sunday/etc.), and scholarship opportunities (BGCI, CICF, etc.)
o   Plans and implements college tours.
Teen Program Director will also:
·        Plan and implement additional educational and leadership development programs on a weekly basis.
·        Accurately record program activities and member participation in all programs.
·        Develop collaborative relationships with feeder middle schools and high schools, and visit them regularly to recruit new teens, to promote teen programs, and to gather data on participating members.
·        Develop collaborative relationships with other organizations, supporting college and career preparation activities.
·        Act as liaison with neighborhood and community groups.
·        Attend all appropriate AmeriCorps and Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis trainings, staff meetings and events. Maintain a training percentage of 12-20%.
·        Follow AmeriCorps, Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis and site policies and procedures.
