Engineering/Construction Management Co-Op

At Shook, we believe in learning by doing. We put our Co-ops into real-life situations that provide hands-on experience in the construction industry. While working directly with an assigned mentor, our co-ops gain worthwhile exposure to numerous elements within the industry.

Your experience may include:

  • Assisting Project Managers and Project Engineers with various day to day responsibilities to assure that construction projects run smoothly, on schedule, and on budget. Duties may include project start-up activities, submittals, RFIs, buy-out, and close-out activities.
  • Project estimating tasks such as quantity take-offs, pricing items of work, price and quotation solicitation, bid analysis, good faith effort documentation and compilation of job cost data.

We utilize co-ops in our preconstruction efforts as well as with construction engineering tasks on current educational, healthcare, industrial, and water resource projects. Therefore, co-ops who return for multiple work terms with Shook gain exposure to entirely different construction opportunities.
