Data Acquisition Co-Op

This position is for an 8-month co-op position focused on collecting and processing data for AI model training. Primary responsibilities are supporting the development, implementation, and refinement of AI models by working closely with our global partners to collect real world data, and our research department to identify field issues through data-driven models.

**This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment from January 2024-August 2024. Only students currently attending college or university will be considered. **

AS A DATA ACQUISITION CO-OP, YOU WILL: 

  • Participate in the architecture of data collection and organization methods from various sources including manufacturing and global service partners
  • Development and implement automated routines for data collection, pre-processing, and integrity checks in preparation for analysis
  • Work with research and data science teams to perform exploratory data analysis, identifying trends and data features
  • Help plan & roadmap new features and functionality
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary agile team supporting the research, data science, and prognostics teams in developing and improving AI models
  • Assist with designing and conducting experiments in a lab environment to evaluate and validate the performance of the AI models
  • Document and present progress/results to the data science and prognostics teams as well as other stakeholders
  • Assist with other project activities as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Required Majors(s): Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related engineering or science field.
  • Minimum year in school: Junior   
  • GPA: 2.5 minimum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • C#, C++, Java, Python or other object-oriented programming skills desired
  • Experience in data collection and pre-processing
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling and machine learning methodologies
  • Possess strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment
  • Familiarity with data visualization, management, and storage tools are a plus
  • Strong mechanical skills are a plus
