Design Engineer Co-Op

This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an innovative engineering team that is a critical component of our engineered to order, severe service & critical service control valve business. Our purpose is to design control valve solutions for our customer’s most challenging applications. This is a practical learning experience for the engineering Co-op student where they will see the problems and issues that require engineering knowledge in a highly technical business. 

**This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment. Only students currently attending college or university will be considered. **

AS A DESIGN ENGINEERING CO-OP, YOU WILL …

  • Assist Engineering teams to develop & refine design tools and best practices.
  • Assist with the evaluation of the new product designs, modifications to existing product, and design of valve constructions for critical service applications
  • Troubleshoot valve performance issues while completing engineering analyses in order to provide a solution to the root cause
  • Provide engineering support to the Global Sales Offices by assisting with technical quotation details for new valve offerings
  • Assist with the daily execution of products orders involving design modifications, application reviews, and customer interaction
  • Collaborate with other functional groups to improve operational efficiency

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Required Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Computer Science
  • GPA: 2.5 or above
  • Status: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Possess strong Computer Programing or VBA Skills
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Possess ability to contribute to a team environment
