Electronic Design Engineer Co-Op

As an Electronics Design Engineering Co-op, you will be a part of a team responsible for new product development of Fisher branded industrial electronic products & bring new technology into the industrial space that makes the world healthier, safer, smarter, and more sustainable. **This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment January 2024-August 2024. Only students currently attending college or university will be considered.**

 

AS A Electronics Design Engineering Co-op, YOU WILL: 

  • Work as part of a multi-discipline team
  • Assist in testing and debug of low power / high reliability analog and digital circuits.
  • Develop, execute, and assist electronics test plans.
  • Support prototype assemblies for cross-discipline testing
  • Modify and assist the debug of surface mount boards to support development.
  • Perform design simulations using SPICE
  • Interact with suppliers to identify components to meet design needs
  • Gain exposure to approval standards
  • Gain experience with electronics CAD software Altium

 

WHO YOU ARE:

You are a hands-on, technically focused engineer who confidently develops and actualizes electronic designs. You push yourself to achieve results and partner with others to drive work to completion while providing timely, relevant information to individuals across the organization. You are a problem solver who seeks new approaches.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Required Major(s): Electrical or Computer engineering.
  • Minimum Yr in school: Junior   
  • Must have completed a course in basic passive circuitry
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly
  • Good working knowledge of electronic test equipment including scopes, meters, signal generators, etc.

PREFERED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Completed a course in active circuitry, FETs and OPAMPS
  • Ability to understand/write embedded firmware (C, C++, etc.)
  • Experience with LabView
  • Experienced with schematic and board layout CAD drawings
