Align is searching for a talented Civil Engineering Intern to join our team! Individuals who are versatile and self-motivated will fit in well with our team of engineers working on a wide range of civil engineering projects.
About Align: Align is a growing firm involved in various design and transportation projects for public and private clients throughout the Midwest. If you enjoy working on a wide variety of projects and have a diverse skillset, then you will thrive in this role. At Align, our team works on everything from transportation-related designs (highway, bridge, traffic, culvert), storm drainage design and analysis, site design, utility design and coordination, construction observation, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Project Design: Collaborate with our engineering team to assist in the design and planning of civil engineering projects. This includes drafting design drawings, conducting site visits, and contributing to project documentation.
- CAD: Gain proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create and modify project plans and drawings
- Site Visits: Participate in on-site inspections to observe construction progress, adherence to project specifications, and quality control.
- Report Preparation: Assist in the preparation of technical reports and project documentation for clients.
- Communication: Collaborate with our transportation and site design teams to ensure project goals are met and maintain effective communication within the team.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering
- Versatile analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Strong communication and dynamic teamwork skills
- Knowledge of construction processes and materials is beneficial
- Prior internship or relevant coursework is a plus but not required
- Positive attitude
