LS Dyna System Strength Specialist (P2) - Hybrid

Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) Core ED&L is seeking an LS-Dyna System Strength Specialist to be a part of our System Strength discipline to conduct structures analysis for commercial and military engines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of system level LS-Dyna modeling and analyses in support of commercial and military aircraft gas turbine engine programs.
  • Develop sub-component, component and full engine models and conduct analysis.
  • Prepare presentation materials to internal customers, airframer, and/or government customers/regulators in formal design reviews and other settings.
  • Work with Design/Structure Integration, Engine Programs, and Module Centers to assure engine dynamics and ultimate condition requirements are understood and properly implemented.
  • Assist in the development of engine dynamics and loads methodology and process improvements that enhance product quality and reduce product cost.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or in a related field and 2+ years of engineering experience in Finite Element Modeling/Analysis. 
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Travel up to 10%.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace and/or Automotive relevant engineering experience.
  • Experiences in LS-Dyna, aircraft gas turbine engine and aircraft loads.
  • Structural and rotor dynamics.
  • Vibration analysis experience.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and finite element analysis software like UNIGRAPHICS, PATRAN, NASTRAN, LS-DYNA, ABACUS or ANSYS.
