Project Engineer Internship!
EVANSVILLE, IN- SUMMER 2024
BMWC Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for the Summer of 2024.
This is a minimum 12-week program, typically 40 hours a week, with potential overtime pending on project needs. There is an opportunity of your internship being potentially extended, if mutually agreed. You will work directly with a BMWC Constructors Project Manager to learn all the duties, responsibilities, and functions necessary to successfully complete an industrial construction project. This is a very hands-on, valuable, and exciting opportunity!
Responsibilities will include some or all the following:
- Interpreting blueprints & drawings, contracts, specifications, and regulations
- Estimating costs, materials purchasing, bids, and proposals
- Handling invoice approvals, quotes, and change orders
- Labor productivity analytics
- Safety audits
- Quality audits
- Project controls & preparing & managing scheduling
- Assisting Superintendents & preconstruction staff
- Researching new products, equipment, vendors, etc.
- Tracking job progress and developing plans to address delays
- Reporting work progress and budget matters to project managers and/or clients
- Leading process improvement, cost-cutting, Lean or other projects
Desired Qualifications:
- Strongly prefer students enrolled in the following degree programs; Construction Engineering/Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering; For Civil/Mechanical Engineering majors, we usually want to see you have a passion for construction, with the intent of building your career in this field!
- A desire to work in the Industrial construction industry
- A strong work ethic, responsible attitude, people/communication skills, ability to think analytically and problem solve, and a sense of humor!
Hourly rate is $20 per hour with additional funds for housing cost coverage (if the job is remote from your home location). Days and hours may vary, depending upon location, client, urgency and need. Some (paid) overtime may or may not be required. We will also pay the cost of temporary relocation for beginning and end of the Internship.
