How You'll Perform The Role

The Process Engineer will be the organization’s Process Management Leader (including but not limited to the extrusion process and the converting process).  The position will utilize engineering and technical knowledge to create and implement methods and procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in one or more of our manufacturing facilities.

The Process Engineer will report to Director Operations, Hilex-Poly and will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Product Management, and other functional areas in their daily work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzing all aspects of manufacturing with the goal of finding elements that can be improved
  • Confirming the quality of both products and processes by establishing standards that they have to meet and developing various testing methods for confirmation
  • Recommends manufacturing equipment and processes designed to be efficient, cost-effective, and timely while promoting product quality and machine reliability
  • Collects and analyzes data from production lines and equipment, to provide insights and recommendations to management on areas of opportunity, identify points of failure, etc.
  • Create process control plans for the operations to guide the operators to better control of process and product quality.
    • Implement daily, weekly, and monthly standardized audits to ensure process compliance
  • Assists in the training of technical and operational personnel on equipment usage and processes, to include the development of standard operating procedures, training materials, and visual work instructions
  • Helps to troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary to support daily operations, utilizing root cause, countermeasure analysis and problem-solving techniques
  • Ensuring the robustness of asset reliability measures
  • Collaborate with group wide Process Engineers through formal functional group meetings
  • Travel to and consult with other facilities based on their expertise, serving as a subject matter expert for certain processes within our various processes

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 5 or more years’ experience in processing engineer in a production environment
  • Any accreditation in Lean Methodologies (Yellow, Green, or Black Belt) is a plus
  • Experience in extrusion and blown film production preferable
  • Experience in root cause, countermeasure analysis and problem-solving techniques
  • Experience in acquiring, compiling, and analyzing data to drive actionable improvements
  • Ability to interact and work with team members at all levels in the organization
  • Experience with CAD software (CREO, SolidWorks, etc.) is a plus
  • Ability to travel domestically, up to 30%
