Job Description

 

P&G is seeking a bioinformatician or strong computational Ph.D. Intern with desire to advance and merge data analysis with wet lab experimentation. The key objective of this internship is to develop methods and computational models (i.e., Flux Balance, Metabolic Control, ERMA etc.) that can help drive predictions towards material development and/or accurately determine outcomes of current technology.

 

The specific project work includes:

     * Working closely with team members to review literature, IP, and interview internal colleagues to survey current physiology and/or computational models

     * Develop and begin optimization of a metabolic model that describes growth outcomes both with and without perturbation

     * Assess growth models to identify potential materials to influence growth, endpoint outcomes, or alter pathway fluctuation

     * Report findings to team members and key stakeholders with recommendation for next steps

 

Job Qualifications

     * Ph.D. candidate in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Biochemistry or a related field

     * Strong background in quantitative model construction and refinement (i.e., Flux Balance, Metabolic Control, EMRA, etc.)

     * Strong communication skills both written and verbal

     * Prefer experience in microbiology/physiology including: wet lab practices, metabolic pathway understanding, experience with the skin microbiome, host-microbial interactions, and/or skin physiology experience
