School Psychologist
Locations:
Dallas ISD, Austin ISD, Houston ISD, San Antonio ISD, Tucson Unified School District, Charter One, Seattle Public Schools, Denver Public Schools
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to assess students' cognitive, academic, and emotional functioning.
- Interpret and communicate evaluation results to parents, teachers, and school administrators.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with disabilities or behavioral challenges.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to address a range of student concerns, including academic difficulties, social-emotional problems, and mental health issues.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement effective classroom management strategies and interventions.
- Conduct crisis intervention and provide support to students and staff in the event of a traumatic or disruptive event.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in school psychology.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Licensure or certification as a school psychologist in the state of employment.
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, learning disabilities, mental health disorders, and behavioral interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing culturally sensitive and equitable services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and writing comprehensive evaluation reports.
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Experience providing individual, group, and family counseling.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention and trauma-informed practices.
