School Psychologist

Locations:

Dallas ISD, Austin ISD, Houston ISD, San Antonio ISD, Tucson Unified School District, Charter One, Seattle Public Schools, Denver Public Schools

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to assess students' cognitive, academic, and emotional functioning.
  • Interpret and communicate evaluation results to parents, teachers, and school administrators.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with disabilities or behavioral challenges.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling to address a range of student concerns, including academic difficulties, social-emotional problems, and mental health issues.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement effective classroom management strategies and interventions.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and provide support to students and staff in the event of a traumatic or disruptive event.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in school psychology.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure or certification as a school psychologist in the state of employment.
  • Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, learning disabilities, mental health disorders, and behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing culturally sensitive and equitable services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and writing comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Experience providing individual, group, and family counseling.
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention and trauma-informed practices.
