CO-OP Internship in Manufacturing Engineering

Co-Op Opportunity (paid) 3-month assignment starting in May preferably.

 

4 Positions Available 

 

Intern will work from one of the following locations, on site when not traveling to other OmniMax manufacturing facilities:

 

2 in Feasterville, PA

2 in Duluth, GA

OmniMax is seeking several long-term interns (up to 6 months) to support our Engineering and Supply Chain functions.

BOM and Routing Interns

 

The Bill of Materials Intern is responsible for auditing, modifying, and maintaining Bill of Materials and Production Routing to support manufacturing, material requirements, and cost.  The project will take you to multiple manufacturing locations in the OmniMax network for data collection.

 

Travel 50% or more

 

Base hourly wage: $20-$25/hr

Must have a valid driver’s license. 

Must be able to travel within the United States. 

Travel will be paid for by OmniMax in advance of travel except for rental vehicle. 

Intern will be reimbursed for any out-of-pocket expenses that are defined as reasonable per OmniMax’ s Travel and Expense Policy.

 

This program will begin approximately May 13th and will end approximately August 23rd.  

OMNIMAX DOES NOT PROVIDE HOUSING

 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing processes against Bills of Materials and auditing existing Bills of Materials in Oracle system.
  • Audit, modify and maintain accurate and consistent multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Responsible for complete accuracy of the Bills of Materials.
  • Responsible for becoming fully competent in using the Bill of Materials maintenance and reports in Oracle.
  • Understand cost impact of changing BOMs and Items as well as impact on production use, inventory values, variances and COGS.
  • Analyze all BOM and routing change requests to ensure that each level of the multi-level BOM is changed in accordance with the requested change and ensure that the change request is necessary.
  • Facilitate any discussions that are required to resolve issues relating to BOM and Item maintenance.
  • Participate in or lead teams/groups related to BOM accuracy.
  • Responsible for working according to the company's safety and quality standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required and or as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Current enrollment in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering curriculum
  • Efficient with MS Excel and other basic computer skills
  • Have analytical and planning skills sufficient to understand data being collected.
  • Completion of at least 60 semester hours or its equivalent at the time of participation in the program.
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.
  • Must be willing to travel over 50% 
  • Temporary Housing for the period of the internship is not provided.
