POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
The Technical Services Supervisor is a professional, technical position that assists and reports to the Technical Services Commander. The Technical Services Supervisor coordinates and supports administration, development, training and implementation of applications administered by the Police Department. This supervisor assists in the management and retention of digital evidence, release of those records according to Colorado and other applicable laws, auditing and controls. The supervisor helps support the evaluation, selection and deployment of hardware and equipment needed for public safety services. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications
Required:
- Three (3) years of experience working in an emergency service environment with high capacity applications that support critical department operations
- Must possess, or be able to obtain a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record for the duration of employment
- General knowledge of police, fire and EMS operations and procedures
- Ability to work all shifts (days, evenings, and graveyards), weekends and holidays
- Excellent human relations skills, excellent analytical skills, good conflict management skills, a strong participative management orientation, and a strong detail and results-oriented style
- Ability to obtain a Colorado OSN with Access Level I & II Certification
Preferred
- Supervisory experience in a Public Safety (police, fire, or EMS) organization.
- Two (2) years of college level coursework in Business Administration/Management, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience with records management, CAD systems, digital archive software, or other tools
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Employment is conditional upon successful completion of:
- Must be able to pass the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check due to access to sensitive areas
- Law enforcement background check to include employment references, criminal history and when applicable, credit check, driver license record, and education verification
- Psychological examination, polygraph or CVSA
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Pre-employment physical
- Must be legally entitled to work in the United States and provide documentation
