Postdoctoral Researcher, Immunology and Microbiology

Postdoctoral Scholar position is available for highly motivated candidates with broad expertise in the fields of immunology and/or microbiology to join the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. Projects in the Yang lab are diverse and are related but not limited to understanding the role of DNA from Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) in bacterial trapping and killing, its DNAzyme activity, and the biological consequences of this activity, bacterial biofilms, and rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree with immunology and/or microbiology required.
  • Strong laboratory research skills in molecular biology, cell biology with particular experience in neutrophil biology, and/or microbiology required.  
  • Knowledge and experience with various genomic, bioinformatic and biostatistical analysis tools preferred.
  • Must possess excellent writing and communication skills, a solid record of peer-reviewed publications, commitment to drive scientific projects, motivation for high impact, high quality research, ability to work closely with an interdisciplinary research team.
  • Applicants must be able to learn and develop new skills as required for the studies. Ability to work independently is expected.
