Civil Hydraulics Engineer

CIVIL HYDRAULICS ENGINEER 

Springfield, IL

 

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), named a “Zweig Group’s “Best Firms to Work For.” is a consulting firm with a team of engineers, planners and other related design professionals is actively seeking to add a 0–5-year entry-level Civil Engineer to our Surface Transportation Team. This role will support all levels of staff within the team while providing the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working toward attaining an Illinois Professional Engineer license
  • Work on conventional, unique, and complex projects
  • Strong focus on Hydraulics
  • Involvement in a variety of roadway and bridge projects with hydrology and hydraulics component
  • Projects includes urban storm sewer systems, storm water management, rural culvert and ditch systems, detention design and bridge hydraulics
  • Collaborate with teams of varying sizes across multiple offices depending on the size and scope of the project
  • Work in a fast-paced learning environment
  • Take the initiative to interact with team members located in other CMT offices

 

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is required
  • Previous engineering experience, or internship experience, is preferred 
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Certification
  • Experience using drafting software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Revit is preferred
  • Experience with other design and analysis software tools will be recognized in the evaluation process
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects, work in an environment to learn quickly, take initiative, and interact with a variety of people.
  • Valid driver’s license
