Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), named a “Zweig Group’s “Best Firms to Work For.” is a consulting firm with a team of engineers, planners and other related design professionals is actively seeking to add a 0–5-year entry-level Civil Engineer to our Surface Transportation Team. This role will support all levels of staff within the team while providing the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working toward attaining an Illinois Professional Engineer license
- Work on conventional, unique, and complex projects
- Strong focus on Hydraulics
- Involvement in a variety of roadway and bridge projects with hydrology and hydraulics component
- Projects includes urban storm sewer systems, storm water management, rural culvert and ditch systems, detention design and bridge hydraulics
- Collaborate with teams of varying sizes across multiple offices depending on the size and scope of the project
- Work in a fast-paced learning environment
- Take the initiative to interact with team members located in other CMT offices
Position Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is required
- Previous engineering experience, or internship experience, is preferred
- Fundamentals of Engineering Certification
- Experience using drafting software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Revit is preferred
- Experience with other design and analysis software tools will be recognized in the evaluation process
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects, work in an environment to learn quickly, take initiative, and interact with a variety of people.
- Valid driver’s license
