Assistant Golf Professional

Lake of Isles is currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals for an Assistant Golf Professional. Candidates will assist the Head Golf Professional with all activities relating to the management and execution of all golf operations; including but not limited to tournaments, outside staff service and operation, club repair, golf shop, practice facilities and instructional programs.  It is anticipated that the growth of this position will be rapid.  A successful candidate should expect to be constantly challenged to improve within this environment and be willing to take on new opportunities as they present themselves.  Kemper Sports has a big network to pull from for anyone willing to learn and be successful at Lake of Isles.

Job Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Assist Head Golf Professional with hiring, training and supervising outside staff 
  • Effectively manages numerous tournaments from start to finish 
  • Maintains golf shop inventory control system 
  • Conducts and implements golf clinics and golf instruction 
  • Manages USGA Handicap System 
  • Manages the daily opening and closing golf operations
  • Manages and performs all duties pertaining to club repair 
  • Coordinates junior golf activities and clinics 
  • Performs outside duties as needed 
  • Ensures golf course is properly marked and maintained for daily play 
  • Assist customers by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations 
  • Administering all daily operations including golf shop sales, merchandising, operating the POS system and maintains tee sheet applications 
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional 
  • Performs and operates under all club policies outlined in the employee manual

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written 
  • Understanding computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel 
  • Established leadership skills  
  • Ability to show reputation of quality and most importantly attention to detail 
  • Willingness to work long hours, weekends and Holidays as demanded by the golf business cycle/season

 

Candidates must have a professional appearance and must be able to communicate effectively with our golfers.

Candidates must also pass a drug test, lift roughly 50lbs and have reliable transportation.
