Regional Organizer & Constituency Manager

The Democratic Party of Illinois is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Constituency and Organizing Manager. The Constituency and Organizing Manager is a full-time position that combines field, political, project management and communications work. The Constituency Organizing Manager will serve as a member of the Regional Political Organizing team and will be crucial in our efforts to build the Democratic Party and expand Democratic majorities in 2024 and 2025.

What Will You Do? 

As a regional representative of DPI, you will manage party outreach to key regional stakeholders and constituency groups in order to grow DPI’s local presence. As a member of the political and organizing team, you will help inform program development and party infrastructure based on the needs of regional stakeholders, ensure effective delivery of party services within your assigned region, and implement core DPI programming. Each organizer has a particular focus and reports to the Political and Field Director. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • 40 percent of time will be dedicated to building and maintaining strong relationships with key constituency groups and those organizations who represent them, including; independent political groups, grassroots and local community organizations in communities of color. This includes conducting outreach to established networks and reaching out to new stakeholders, hosting regular constituency-focused events and actions, and attending community events on behalf of the DPI. 
  • 25 percent of time will be spent assisting in the execution of field and voter contact programs, including the management and coordination of DPI stakeholders and volunteers for events, direct voter contact, petition gathering, voter registration, and other activities to expand, engage, and turn out the Democratic electorate.
  • 20 percent of time will be spent working with DPI political staff and other senior staff to develop DPI programming and facilitate programming at the regional level.
  • 15 percent of time will be spent attending local meetings and events such as township meetings, county central committee meetings, fundraisers, and other regularly hosted or relevant stakeholder meetings as necessary.

 

Who Are You? 

The ideal candidate will be a passionate promoter of Democratic values, and have direct or transferable experience in multiple areas of campaign work. Additionally, candidates should be excited to build a structure that will outlast them, and have a collaborative, customer-service oriented mindset. 

 

Applicants must have the ability to travel throughout their region regularly. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, and a reliable mode of transportation and be willing to work nights and weekends as needed.

 

The salary for this role is $65,000 - $70,000 and is commensurate with experience. DPI also offers a generous benefits package with the opportunity for growth.
