Job Description

This is a tremendous opportunity to learn about airport/aviation policy as well as the inter-workings of city, state, and local government. This role would support the Government Affairs team at PHL. The individual, or individuals, would report directly to the Director of Government Affairs. The candidate must be available on site a minimum of 15 hours a week.

Essential Functions

1.           - Support the Director of Government Affairs by assisting in project management.

2.           - Assist in drafting legislative and policy related correspondence.

3.           - Assist the office by providing legislative and policy related research and updates.

4.           - Provide administrative related assistance including: filing, copying, and scheduling

 5.           - Other support where necessary.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Skills and Abilities:

  • STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS - As a part of this job this individual will need to communicate with the necessary internal and external parties.
  • - EXCELLENT WRITER - A candidate for this position must be a skilled writer and capable of assisting with a heavy workload.
  • - ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY - While this is a supervised position, the candidate should have the ability to work independently from time to time.

Qualifications

  • College Student Any year of college is okay.
  • Latest transcript required.
  • (1) Letter of recommendation.
  • Must pass and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) clearance.
  • *Must pass and maintain AOA (Airfield Operations Area) clearance for Operation positions.
  • Applicants aged 18 years and older must complete a medical assessment, including a drug test.

Salary Range: $17-$17.56 per hour
