Staff Civil Engineer (Municipal)

Job Summary

Fishbeck is actively seeking talented Civil Engineers to work on municipal projects. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning, organization, and communication skills, and the ability to work with other staff in a project team environment. This position will provide a variety of learning and development experience for the right candidate. 

Primary Functions

  • Perform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, execute CAD drafting, and prepare reports.
  • Work with engineers to plan and design for water main, sanitary sewer, and road projects for local municipalities.
  • Work closely with other technical staff from all Fishbeck offices to provide utility and drainage design and other related engineering services, mainly for local municipalities.
  • Interact daily with project teams in a multi-disciplinary and multi-office environment.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Exposed to occasional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and maneuvering around project sites for attending client and project meetings and site observations. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.

Desired Education

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Successfully passed FE (EIT) Exam.
  • 1+ years’ experience preferred.
  • Relevant internship, co-op, or field inspection experience is desired.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills.
