Bureau Reporter
WSIL-TV, the Allen Media-owned ABC affiliate located in a beautiful Midwest Top 100 market, is looking for an energetic and passionate recent graduate who wants to jumpstart their career in journalism as a TV Reporter. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your storytelling skills and report on a variety of topics that impact our local community.
Responsibilities:
- Cover breaking news, live events, and human interest stories for television and digital platforms
- Conduct interviews, research, and gather information to produce accurate and compelling stories
- Collaborate with the news team to pitch story ideas and deliver on-air content
- Produce multimedia content for social media platforms
- Meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- Strong writing, reporting, and interviewing skills
- Comfortable on camera and ability to report live
- Proficient in digital media and social media platforms
- Willingness to work unconventional hours, including weekends and evenings
